Privacy

This explains what happens to the information you give us through this website. It is written to be read, not to be impressive. If anything here is unclear, ring the shop or email info@a1autodetailinghh.com and we will explain it in plain terms.

What we collect

Only what a job needs, and only when you hand it over:

• When you request an appointment — your name, phone number, email address, which service you picked, the date and time you asked for, details of the vehicle, anything you tell us you want addressed, and any photographs you attach.
• When you use the contact form — your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message.
• Automatically, as you browse — general information about how the site was reached and which pages were viewed. This does not identify you by name.

We do not ask for, and have no use for, payment card details, dates of birth, government identifiers, or any of the categories of information the law treats as sensitive. Please do not send them to us.

What we use it for

Running the shop, and nothing else. Booking your slot, confirming it, quoting the work, doing the work, contacting you about your vehicle, and keeping the ordinary business records a company has to keep. That is the entire list.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade, or otherwise hand it to anybody who wants it for their own purposes. We do not use it to advertise other companies to you.

Who else touches it

A handful of suppliers process information on our behalf so that the site and the shop work. They act on our instructions and are not permitted to use anything for their own ends:

• Our website host and database provider, which is where booking requests and enquiries are stored.
• Our email provider, which delivers your booking acknowledgment and confirmation.
• An analytics provider, which tells us how many people visited a page and where they left the booking form. It is configured not to record sessions and not to build a profile of you — the site never tells it who you are, because the site does not ask.

Two parts of the site load content from another company, and those can set their own cookies in your browser under their own policies, not ours:

• The map on the contact page is a Google Maps embed. If you would rather it did not load, the address is written out beside it and works fine on its own.
• Where we show social posts, the images may be served by the platform they came from.

Cookies and similar storage

There is no cookie banner on this site because we have kept the list short enough not to need one. What is stored:

• A small record of how you first found us — for example, that you arrived from a search or from a particular advert. It is kept for about 90 days, it lives in your own browser, and it contains no name, address, or contact detail. It exists so that when somebody books, we can tell which of our efforts actually brought them in.
• Whatever the analytics provider and the embedded map set, as described above.

Clearing your browser data removes all of it. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are cleared out once they are plainly stale. Records of actual appointments are kept for as long as we need them for warranty questions, follow-up work, and the accounting and tax records a business is obliged to retain.

Asking us to delete it

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form on this site or email info@a1autodetailinghh.com and say what you would like done. We will confirm when it is finished.

One honest caveat: where a record is part of our accounting or a warranty on work already carried out, we may have to keep that part. We will tell you if that applies and what is being kept.

Children

This site is for people arranging work on a vehicle. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this changes, the revised version goes up here. Anything significant will be flagged rather than slipped in quietly.
